Handmade Play Room Banner
I dead adore all of the fun birthday and holiday banners I've seen vagrant around the internet. Shouldn't every solar day be a celebration though?
I definite to do a banner for the kids play room.
This banner is very simple to make, but visual perception every bit information technology was all hand-stitched it took much of prison term too. Give thanks good for DVR'd movies.
What you volition need:
- Matte up board
- Mat up
- Patterned fabric
- Patterned-edge and straight scissors
- Material marker
- Embroidery thread and needle
- Hooks
- Rope
To make:
Edit out large triangles out of the felt plank (the instrument panel is much larger and more stiff than the regular felt sheets you can purchase).
I used a simple word document to make the letters the size I wanted, printed them and cut them dead set make the stencils.
Lay the stencil on felt and rattling cautiously draw around it victimisation a fabric marker. Cut to it out.
Washout, dry and iron your fabric. Victimization jagged-edge scissors cut a trilateral a little smaller than the one you cut using the felt board.
Hand stitch the fabric to the felt board and the matte up letters on top of that.
The banner I made is double-sided so once each individual triangle was fattening I stitched a triangle to the back of it – just take sure you don't stitch a 'P' to a 'P' Oregon the reverse side will be backwards.
Use a hole punch to cause holes in the top corners of each trigon. Draw the rope direct and attach them to the hooks.

Muhammad Ali: I cause have a sewing machine. I actually just set it up a couple of weeks past on a bit table in my office, but I scarce ever use it. Scots heather (commenter below you) could attest to the fact that I took about an hour one day at her mum's home just trying to thread information technology and get it to sew something other than knotty webs ha ha. I in reality prefer reach-sewing. I'm really weird like that. Especially with felt because I use the full 6 strands of embellishment thread so the stitches are thick and contrasting colors a mete out of the time.

Lie with it! This is impeccable timing because I wanted to spend a penny a Yule-y banner decoration for the house but I wasn't sure how I wanted to put everything together. Thanks for the ideas and directions!!
